Lots of animals...

Last night Justin & I took Dailey to the fair to see the animals. We went to the sheep/goat barn first with hopes Logan would be in there, but he wasn't. We showed Dailey his lambs & they were very friendly...they stuck their heads as far out of their pins as they could to see her! I was petting them & when I asked her if she wanted to pet them she very seriously told me "No petting!". We got a good laugh out of her & continued to walk through & look at the animals. The next barn was the pig barn & she wanted nothing to do with them. It was really loud, the pigs were all snorting & squeeling so she went through the whole barn with her finger on her mouth telling them "shh". The cattle were the same thing as the pigs, not exactly what we expected out of her! :) She thought the draft horses were pretty cool though. Justin knew one of the guys that owned a few of them so he let us in a stall with a HUGE draft horse that had a baby. The mommy horse was gigantic & the baby was the size of a full grown 'normal' horse, but it was really tall & lanky. Dailey didn't really want to pet it until I did, then she was all for it. She liked to touch her head & her neck, the whole time saying "Neigh, neigh!"

When we were done with the animals we headed to the food to find something for dinner & to sit down to eat. My feet needed a rest :) After dinner we walked back through the sheep barn to see if maybe she would want to pet them. This time she wanted out of her stroller & wanted to pet everything! There were 2 tiny baby goats that she loved! My mom has some friends who are big into goats (they have like 20 at the fair!) and they were in there so they let Dailey feed 1 of them peanuts & pet all of them. She started off really good feeding, but pretty soon she was just setting the peanuts on the ground outside of the pin. It was torture for the goat because she couldn't reach any of them! They also took one of their babies out of the pin & let Dailey pet it. She was taller than the goat was, so she wasn't scared at all. She kept putting her face in the goats face and saying "baaaa". It was pretty cute!!

This was before she started putting the peanuts on the ground for her to eat. This poor goat looked like it was going to pop! She is due soon & they think she is carrying triplets - ouch!!

Logan & Slate show their lambs...part 1...

Since May, one of Logan's main priorities have been his lambs. He got them when they were little & has been working with them every day to prepare to show them at the fair. When I went yesterday morning to watch him show, I realized that I officially know nothing about 4-H or lambs! He & his friend Slate are in the same 4-H group & thankfully Slate's family has done 4-H for many, many years so they are able to help both Logan & Mom. Yesterday was showing #1 of 3 & I'm not sure what exactly they were doing. Logan placed 4th in his class with his first lamb & 6th with his 2nd lamb. The judge took the top 3 from the first class to the final round & the top 4 from the second class, so he just missed the finals.

Slate's lambs both placed very high in their classes, so both of his lambs went on to the finals. Since the kids can only show 1 lamb at a time, Slate asked Logan if he would show 1 of his lambs for him. It was fun to see them out there together. They became friends when they were very young & it's been fun to watch them grow together. Slate fits in great with Logan & Landon so when they are all together I feel like I have 3 little brothers.

Slate's lambs placed about 13th & 14th in the final round & there were LOTS of lambs, so he did great. The final round went on for a very long time & Slate got bored. He is always the one that is singing & dancing to his own beat, so pretty soon Slate was dancing & playing with his lamb. He was using the ears like drum sticks & just dancing away. He were cracking up!! He must have got bored with that because pretty soon he started acting like his lamb...he was acting like he was chewing & moving his head however his lamb would. He was definately the entertainment for the rest of the final round.

Today is round #2 of showing. Yesterday the boys each picked 1 of their lambs to sell/auction off. I've never been to a sale thing before, but I heard it is very long. It starts at 11:30 with pigs, then goats (people buy & eat goats...??), then the lambs & they end with steers. My sister has to pick up a friend at the airport in Yakima & she volunteered to take Dailey with her, so Becky & I are going to watch the sale.

Wild boys...

Boys will be boys...right? That is what we keep telling ourselves anyways! My youngest brother, Landon, is 8 years old & he is the child that always ends up getting hurt. On Mother's Day he fell off of a fence/gate & broke his arm, not a little break, a big break that required a full arm cast for 6+ weeks. Saturday he was playing flag football...you can only imagine how this one turned out! I'm not sure exactly how it all went down but it went something like this - he fell & Logan (9 year old brother) fell on top of his leg. It ended with both of the bones in Landon's leg being broke in 1/2, a ride in the ambulance & a long E.R. stay. They weren't 100% sure that they were going to be able to set it without surgury because the bones were so out of alignment, so they took him to the O.R. and put him under. Thankfully, they were able to set it & cast it without surgery but now he is in a full leg cast for 6 weeks.

He is at home with me today & will be for this week while Mom is at work. He can't move his body at all because the cast is so heavy but between Logan & I we can get him in the wheel chair to get him to the bathroom. Justin came home a while ago & moved him from the chair to the couch & he will be home in a few minutes to move him again if he wants to move.

While You Were Out...

I love the show "While You Were Out" on TLC & while we were out of town last week my sister did that to us! :) Before we left her & I had gone to the paint store & picked out paint for the girls' rooms, but I thought we would paint when we got back. On Saturday when we got home I was still in the motorhome & Justin came out & asked if I knew the bedrooms had been painted & Dailey's furniture was all moved. I had a feeling that she might start it, or paint one room, but I had no idea that she would do as much as she did. She moved (took apart & put back together) all of Dailey's furniture & painted both rooms, each 2 colors, plus repainted all of the trim.

We picked up the crib & dresser for the new baby's room this week & today Becky & I are going to do the finishing touches. I can't wait to get the totes of newborn clothes out & hang them in her closet. I've been really good about not buying a bunch of clothes for the new little one. We have so many cute little newborn & 3 month outfits that Dailey was never able to wear all of them. If this baby doesn't get big so quick maybe she will get more use out of them...we'll see! :)

Orcas Island...

Last week we had a GREAT trip to Orcas Island! It's an annual trip that Justin's family has done since he was a kids & he looks forward to it every year (so do I!). Last year was our first year that we went as a family, but we plan on making it a tradition with our girls, along with Logan & Landon. We left on Monday after work & headed to Anacortes. We were planning on staying at an RV park not far from the ferry landing, but we decided on the way over that we would try to catch the latest ferry they had. We got to the ferry landing in Anacortes about 8pm & the ferry left at 9 so we had some time to spare. We walked down to the little beach & the kids played for a few minutes before it was time to board. Logan & Landon could not wait to get there to go fishing, crabbing & to play with their friends that they met last year. We got to the resort pretty late so we pulled in & made the beds for everyone & called it a night.

We were all up early Tuesday morning, we had breakfast & the boys headed to the dock to start fishing about 8am. At 1 I hadn't seen them (Justin spent some time on the dock with them though, it's not like they were on their own) so I took them down lunch. They were fishing off the dock with all the kids & had almost filled up the cooler with Bullheads that they were planning on using for crab bait the next day.

Wednesday, Thursday & Friday all pretty much had the same agenda: we had breakfast & the boys headed to the dock to fish, they checked crab pots every few hours, fished more, ate lots of ice cream from the store by the dock, Dailey rode (got pushed) on her bike, we went for a few boat rides & had a great time together!!

Years, Days, Minutes Tag...

20 years ago I was....A little girl, only 4 years old. I was a total daddy's girl & wanted to be involved in whatever my dad was doing. I spent my days when my parents were at work between my Grandma Campbell's house & Joycie's house. We spent almost every weekend in the summer boating & spent our winters snow skiing. I loved anything that had to do with Barbies or Flintstones.

10 years ago I was....14 & trying to discover what life was all about. I worked after school for my aunt Karla at Suntans Etc. I liked to work, but I would have much rather spent all of my free time with my friends. Both of my parents had recently got remarried & my mom was pregnant with Logan, my oldest little brother.

5 years ago I was.... 19, living in Yakima, going to YVCC & working for Farmers Insurance. My weekends were spent at a race track somewhere along the West Coast. I missed home but I was glad to be out of Ellensburg & doing my own thing. I met some of my best friends at this point in my life.

3 years ago I was....21 & returning to Ellensburg. My life had just took a total 180 & I had no idea what the next day was going to bring....little did I know it was going to involve Justin soon! :) I drove past the Honda dealership on my lunch hour one day & loved the new Civic on the lot so I went back that night & bought it. I paid WAY too much for it, but I loved my brand new little car & I was able to say that I did it all on my own. I quit my job in Yakima & started working for my mom at Ellensburg Embroidery.

So far this past year I....turned 24, watched Dailey go from a baby to a toddler, became pregnant with our 2nd baby & love Justin more & more every day. I struggle to keep up with housework & Dailey, but we love our life & wouldn't change a thing. We've spent most of our weekends of the summer boating & enjoying life. I've worked in Yakima at the District Office for Farmers Insurance for the past 1 1/2 years.

Yesterday I...spent most of my day at home with Dailey. We colored, danced, sang Itsy Bitsy Spider 400+ times, watered the flowers & read books. After she went down for a nap the neighbor girl came over & stayed with her so I could get my hair done. When I got home Mackenzie was pushing Dailey on her new bike in the driveway & Dailey had a huge smile on her face, she looks like such a big girl on her bike! I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful little girl & great neighbors who watch her.

Next year I will....be a mother of 2 beautiful little girls & a wife of a great father & husband. I will continue to work just a few days a week to keep my sanity. We plan on going back to Hawaii in the spring...just the 2 of us!! :) We will be living in the same house, but hopefully the addition will be complete & we will have a bigger kitchen, a beautiful master bedroom, a big master bathroom & a new garage.

1. The Fridge:
Yes, Justin is officially the Condiment King, I don't think we can fit one more jar/bottle of anything in our door.

I opened my closet doors & got scared so I took a picture of Dailey's...her's isn't exactly clean/organized but it's 100 times better than mine!

My Uggs (even though Justin told me they are 'so 2006' haha - coming from Mr. Fashion himself!!), my Crocs (very ugly, but so comfortable & great to do yard work in) and my black flip-flops.

New bedrooms...

With the new baby coming we have lots of changes coming our way. Our biggest project right now is getting Dailey moved into her new bedroom. This, of course, means totally re-decorating & moving on from the baby bedding that she has had so far. Her room was really cute to start with, but I'm over the pastel & flowers - it's just not her at all anymore. She is a very rambunctious little girl & she needs something more like her. This is what I ordered for her...I ordered the full size bedding, throw pillow, rug...

& the garbage can...

I'm waiting for it to be here before we pick out the paint colors. I'm thinking of doing the walls turquoise & brown, but I want to wait to see what color the turquoise is in real.

Yesterday Justin & I went to Southcenter & ordered the new baby's furniture. We ordered the crib & dresser from this set...

The crib is a 'life time' crib also, so it will eventually go to a full size headboard & footboard, just like Dailey's. This is the bedding that I ordered a few weeks ago...

I loved it when I saw it online, but it is 100 times cuter in real. I was so excited when I got it!!! I also ordered this to put her diapers, wipes & lotions in on top of her dresser...

The walls in the little bedroom (baby's room) have a chair rail, so we are going to do chocolate brown on the bottom & probably the light pink on the top 1/2 of the walls. The trim right now is all off-white so that will be painted white to match the bedding as well. I can't wait for it all to be done!!

Higher!!!

Dailey LOVES her swing. Hopefully whoever she talks into pushing her doesn't have plans for the next few hours because she won't let you stop pushing! :) She calls it her 'fwing' & there are days when she will stand at the back door, looking at her swing in the tree yelling 'FWING, FWING, FWING!!!' until someone takes her out. I do my fare share of pushing, but usually it's Justin that ends up pushing her because he can't tell her no & he will stop what he is doing to push her. The other night I was in the kitchen & they were outside playing & watering the flowers. Pretty soon I heard her belly laughing & yelling so I looked out & this is what I saw...It was fun to just stand back & watch them play together. She has no idea what a great daddy she has!!

Broken washer...

Last week our washer broke, mid-wash! Justin had started a load of laundry (yes, he does laundry!) and everything was fine for a few minutes then there were some really bad noises coming from the laundry room. Thank goodness he is mechanically-inclined & was able to figure out what was broken. He ordered the parts & 2 days later they came in so he could fix it. Of course, he can't do anything by himself without Dailey helping him so she had her tools right in there with him the whole time. He has more patience with her than most so he just sat back & let her 'fix' it. Thankfully it only took them about an hour to fix it, then we were back in business!

Hmm...how can I fix this??
