That is what I feel like our nights have been lately - a circus! We have gone from having 2 little angels that sleep all night (Dailey is almost 2 1/2, obviously she sleeps all night, but Skylee was sleeping almost every night until between 4am & 6am, then eating & going to back to sleep) to having 2 little girls that don't want to sleep in their beds past about 1am. From about 1am on we have been ending up with BOTH of them in our bed & it's crazy! :) Skylee goes back to sleep if you cuddle her, but Dailey is like sleeping with a fish out of water. She flops, kicks, flings her arms, rolls around & sleeps sideways in the bed, preventing anyone else from sleeping. I get up in the mornings exhausted & literally sore from either being kicked all night, or from being so tense because I've had to hang on to the covers all night to prevent her from kicking me off the bed. You are probably asking yourself why we allow her to get out of her bed & into ours...she is having bad dreams. She wakes up crying & yelling for both Justin & I. When I got her the other night she was flinging her arms around & crying "No monkey, no!" I don't know if she has caught a glimpse of the news lately about the chimp attacking that lady, or what is going on, but its terrible. I will admit though, when everyone is sleeping & not flopping around...I love to have them in bed with us. I lay awake & just look at them & realize how lucky I really am to have Dailey kicking me in the ribs all night & Skylee waking up still. Yes, it's a little crazy, but I love it!
Skylee has cut 2 teeth in the last week and that has caused chaos with her sleep schedule as well. She wakes up & wants to suck or chew on something & hasn't figured out how to put herself back to sleep yet. Sometimes I can get away with running in her room as soon as I hear her stirring & putting her pacifier in her mouth, but if one of us doesn't get in there fast enough then she is wide awake & wants to eat. Either she wants to eat, or we use it as the easiest way to get her back to sleep...it depends on how you look at it! :) Either way, a little bit of food gets her right back to sleep!
Speaking of food...Skylee has decided that she loves 'big' girl food! I tried rice cereal a couple of weeks ago & she thought it was terrible. Dailey never liked baby food, so I thought that maybe she wasn't going to be interested either...I was wrong! I mashed up some banana & mixed it with rice cereal for her while Dailey & I were eating breakfast the other day & she thought it was alright, but didn't love it. Later that day I tried some sweet potatos & she loved it! She ate the whole bowl!! She reminded me of my brother Logan when he first starting eating solids, he was slurping it from the spoon! Since then she has decided that she likes bananas without the rice cereal mixed in, too. I'm going to stick sweet potatoes & bananas for the next week or so, then add in something new.
My other exciting news is that Dailey has decided that she is ready to use the potty! I've tried for the last couple of months & she hasn't really shown any interest...remember this post? I've still been putting her in undies when we are home though & cleaning up messes off the floor because I wasn't ready to completely give up. I've also left her little potty chair in rooms that she often plays, so that she would see it & hopefully show some interest in it. The interest part wasn't working so hot though, the only thing she had been using it for was a stool to get into everything! :) So today started off like any other day, we took her diaper off & put undies on her & she ran around all morning. I was in the play room (where her little potty sits) when she ran in, opened the lid, sat down & went!!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes, she peed in the potty all on her own! We celebrated, I told her what a good girl she was, she helped me empty the pee into the toilet, I cleaned the potty chair with a disinfecting wipe, put it back where she used it & she went on her way back to her toys. I know, totally weird that she used the potty in the play room & even weirder that I put it back in the play room for her to use again, but whatever works for her at this point, works for me! I didn't get my hopes up that she would continue (I'm lying, I totally did!) but she did!! The rest of the day, except for 1 little accident, she would run to her potty, pull down her undies & go! I'm SO proud of her. She is turning into such a big girl lately, I love her so much!!
Don't get me wrong though...she is still our crazy little girl who loves to do silly things. I walked into the play room the other day to find this...
...she had taken all of her books out of the basket & was playing in it. The picture makes her look like she was being serious, or upset, but she was laughing & thought it was so fun to be in the basket. Here is another pictures of our cute, youngest daughter.

She had just got done eating her sweet potatoes & was so happy!

Then climbed up on her little stool (the pink one in the picture) and pulled the bowl off of the counter!
