Helping in the garden...

After checking on the cows last night we took Dailey for a treat at Dairy Queen. She is just like Justin & LOVES ice cream! It was a beautiful night so when we got home we enjoyed our ice cream on our new patio set then worked in the garden a little. Our garden got too much water & doesn't drain that well & that doesn't go well with peppers or tomatoes. Our poor plants started out with big leaves & in a matter of days they were down to just a stick in the ground. I replaced one of the tomato plants & 2 of the peppers. I'm hoping that I can bring the others back...we'll see. We should have yummy food this year, I have 3 kinds of tomatos, red & green peppers, jalapenos, walla walla onions, carrots, 2 kinds of lettace, peas, cucumbers, watermelon, corn & sunflowers.

Checking the cows...

We have been taking care of Jack & Mary's house since the end of last week while they were out of town. Dailey has been a big helper feeding the cats & dogs, watering the flowers, irrigating the field, checking the cows & giving the sick cow shots every day. Yesterday we were in the corral trying to get the cow in the shoot so Justin could give it a shot, she had a death grip to us the whole time & kept saying "no, no, no". She does great with the cows as long as they are on the other side of the fence! Tonight she spent quite a bit of time standing on the gate talking to the cows & yelling "Hi Pat!" to Pat, the bull.

Playing in the pool...

Yesterday Dailey & I started our day by getting her hair cut. It was getting really long & was pretty scraggly in the back so I took her to the salon & she sat in the chair like a big girl!
When we were done we walked through the Farmers Market, then headed to the baseball fields to watch a few games. Our first game was Kody's, my sister's nephew. We watched the first hour of Kody's then walked over to Logan's game. It was REALLY hot but Logan's team played great, even though they ended up losing. He plays catcher & I felt so sorry for him with all of his catching gear on. After the game Dailey & I were both hot & getting miserable so we headed home to cool off. Thank goodness for air conditioning!!!! Dailey went down for a nap so I put water in her little wading pool, put my suit on & soaked my feet while I read a book - it felt so good!! When Dailey woke up we went outside again to play in her pool. At first she didn't want to get in, she just wanted to splash, but pretty soon she was jumping in it & riding down the slide into it. When we were done playing we went to my sister's house for a BBQ, then came home & called it a night.

Cadence Rae...

Cadence Rae is finally here!! She is the first daughter of my friend, Shae & her husband Shane. She was born on May 7th, she weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces & is absolutely precious! Here are some pictures I took on Friday when I went to visit them.

Pretty Mom, Pretty...

When I heard Dailey walking towards me saying "Pretty Mom, Pretty!" I knew she had gotten into something, more than likely something she wasn't supposed to get into. She had got into my purse & got a tube of lipgloss out...

Drinkin' from the hose....

Yesterday we got up & decided we were going to work our tails off & build our raised vegi garden & raise all the flower beds with cement blocks. I'm sure some are asking why I thought doing this 5 1/2 months pregnant was a good idea? Trust me - I was today also when I stepped out of bed & about landed on the floor! :) I have to admit, when Justin was picking up the second palet of blocks, Dailey & I headed to the nursery to get all the plants. When we got back he had completed the whole front of the house by himself! He's quite the worker & I didn't hear one word of complaning all day. Our projects are looking great, even though not 100% complete yet. After brunch today we are going to fill them in with dirt & then start planting. I'll post pictures when they are complete.

Anyways, back to the reason for my post...when we were outside Dailey learned to drink from the hose. At first she was bent over licking it & water wasn't getting on her clothes. Pretty soon she was standing up tall with the water just going on her face & all over her clothes. It took her a while to realize that she was completely wet & it wasn't all that warm out anymore. I didn't get any pictures of her drinking, but here are some of the end result.

Finger painting...

I was so nice out today!! I stripped Dailey down to her undies & we went outside to finger paint. At first she was just using 1 finger & making dots on the paper but it didn't take her long to figure out she could get paint all over her hands & make a really pretty picture! I think that more ended up on her tummy than anywhere else, but she had a great time.

Here is a picture of her playing with her new toy I scored for her at a yard sale today. It's totally a little boy toy, but she enjoys it!

Camping...

This last weekend we went camping with Tyler, Mel & McKinley & had a great time! Dailey loved all of the time outside & had a good time playing with McKinley. It rained all of Saturday, but no one minded. We decided to take the girls on a 4-wheeler ride through the trees where there wouldn't be so much rain. They loved it, even though we couldn't see their smiles through their helmets! On Sunday we got up & it was beautiful!! We enjoyed breakfast together outside, then we took the girls on a long 4-wheeler ride. Both of them slept most of the time while their daddy's held on to them. These 2 tough guys have HUGE soft spots when it comes to their girls! :)

We need to work on the sharing a little...Dailey stole these gloves from Mel then refused to let McKinley touch them!

Our sleepy little girl, we stopped to have lunch & she slept on the seat of the 4 wheeler the entire time, then slept the whole way back!

Our ride on Saturday...it was short lived because of the rain in the girls' faces

Dailey & I taking a little break on the 4 wheeler

Dailey was helping McKinley eat. McKinley was sharing her slobbery crackers with Dailey & she was chowin' on them!
