Wonderful weekend...

This has started out to be a great weekend already, and it's still Saturday morning!!

Yesterday my sister called & asked if they girls could stay with her for the night. This is nothing new for Dailey, she spends a lot of time there, but it's new for Skylee. She has stayed with my sister before, but only when we've gone out of town for the night...never 'just because'. When I told Justin he was super excited & told me he didn't know what we were going to do, but we would be doing something fun. We ended up going to dinner & bowling with some friends. I'm not much of a bowler, but it was fun to do something different.

It was so nice to get to sleep in this morning (7:30!) and have a few quiet minutes to myself. Justin got up early & has been in the shop working on his truck while one of his friends & one of his employees/friend are working on their vehicles as well. Before the girls came home I was even able to make a few batches of baby food for Skylee. She is eating like a champ lately & now I have a weeks worth of food in the fridge & freezer for her.

The girls are both sleepy today...that was to be expected from having a night at Auntie's house! Dailey likes to stay up late to watch a movie & eat popcorn when she is there, or do all of the other things that she only gets away with when she is there. When she brought the girls home this morning I asked her what time Dailey went to bed and she said "Oh, you know." then walked in the other room & changed the subject! Haha, like I would even think they would be in bed at 8. She finally gave in & said that Dailey just wouldn't calm down & she finally went to sleep about 11. Dailey turns into a night owl when she is there, just like her Auntie is.

Dailey heard my sister say that she was going to Kody's baseball game today & she ran in the kitchen to ask me if she could go with her. I told her that maybe we could go later after she takes a really good nap. She didn't say anything to me, she just turned around & walked away, but I heard her tell my sister in a really sad voice "Mommy said I can't go with you to Kody's game." I felt bad, but having a good nap today will keep her from being a nightmare later today.

While Skylee has been taking a nap (she's been down about 2 hours) Dailey & I have been quietly painting, coloring, writing with chalk on the back porch & making a fort with all of the pillows & blankets that she could get her hands on. She thought she hit the jackpot when I changed all the bedding on our bed - she hand more pillows & blankets then she knew what to do with! She looked pretty cute trying to pull a king size comforter down the hall by herself...she was grunting & growning the whole time!

When Skylee wakes up we'll have lunch, play outside while the weather is still nice, then hopefully Justin will be home so we can take Dailey fishing. We got her a new fishing pole a few weeks ago & she asked me right away this morning if we can go fishing at Grandma's house today. Justin's parents have a pond at their house & she is has been asking us if she can go fishing, but until today, we haven't had weekend that the weather has been nice. I honestly think she would be terrified if she caught a fish (the fish in their pond are really big) but she will have fun just having her line in the water.

Ocean Shores...

I'm trying to play catch-up from the last month...

A couple of weeks ago Justin & I decided to take the girls on a little trip this weekend, so on Thursday afternoon I packed our suitcases, Justin came home early & we were off to Ocean Shores! With Dailey being newly potty trained & the 4 1/2 hour drive I had to come up with something to avoid putting a diaper on her, so I up her little potty chair in the back of the car & we were off! She made it about 3 hours before saying that she needed to go, so when she said she had to go Justin pulled into the nearest parking lot for her...

It was a beautiful day on Friday so we were able to enjoy playing on the beach & both of the girls loved it! At that point Skylee wasn't quite sitting by herself yet, so I made a little chair for her in the sand & she was so happy. We enjoyed lots of time swimming in the pool & most of all, we enjoyed spending time as a family!
