Ocean Shores 2010

- Ocean Shores -
lots of childhood memories
lots of memories with now with our children

Grandma's 80th Birthday

On April 28th my Grandma Rhodes turned 80 & we got to celebrate her with a surprise birthday party.  Grandma is a lady that loves to be surrounded by people, especially all of her family so when she walked in & saw everyone she was brought to tears.
In her 80 years of life she was married for over 60 years before Grandpa passed in August 2008, raised 7 children, watched many grandchildren grow & now gets to watch her great-grandchildren grow.
She is a compassionate lady whos hugs & kisses are always followed by "I love you", she likes to hold hands & always has a smile on her face.

Happy Birthday Grandma, we love you!

Preschool registration...already?!

Many things have taken place lately that have made me realize how quick Dailey is growing up.

The first thing is that tomorrow we have preschool registration for Dailey.  Mama is sad & Dailey is beyond excited!  After I explained to her what an exciting day it will be tomorrow to get to meet all of her new friends & that Skylee & I will be going with her she told us 'No mommies, no little sisters & no fathers need to be at school with me tomorrow because my teacher will take care of me.  School is just for big girls so you don't need to help me.'  I don't need to help you?!?  Since when has she got big enough that she doesn't need my help with everything?  Then, when we were getting her ready for bed tonight she demonstrated for us how she is going to get out of the car & run inside to see her friends.  I hope tomorrow goes a little smoother because she fell down while she was showing us tonight!

New home pictures

Here are some pictures that I took tonight of our new home.

The front view
And a view of the back!

The garage floor that was poured last week
Hide & seek under the stairs
Peek-a-boo!
Before we started building we had many people tell us how trying, long & frustrating it would be, but we can't believe how smooth & fast it has gone so far!  We are three months into it (over half way) & have had a great time so far.

This week the whole look of the house will be changing because it's getting siding outside & insulation inside.  We are so excited for it to be done!!

Flashback to 2009

Where has time gone & how has our baby grown so fast in the last year??  When I took this picture last week...

I could still see this picture in my head that I took exactly a year earlier...
I can't help but wonder what she will look like in April of 2011.  I'll patiently wait though because I don't want her to grow up any faster than she already is.

Playing with the hose

Last week Mel & McKinley came over for lunch & to go see our new house.  It was a beautiful day so the girls were playing outside & watering the flowers with the hose.  When it was time to get out the door I changed Skylee out of her soaking wet clothes & asked her to go get her shoes while I got Dailey's a change of clothes.  When I came back out I found Skylee outside just as happy as can be...
Yes, this is the dry outfit I had just put on her so we could leave the house that she has the hose running all over.

Grant

I love this crazy kid.
And his crazy hair.
And his awesome hugs.
