Valentine's Day cookies..

Yesterday Auntie came over to make cookies & spend the day with us. Dailey was SO excited to get to help, she stirred the cookie dough...

Stirred a little bit more...

Licked the spoon...while still stirring of course!

Then climbed up on her little stool (the pink one in the picture) and pulled the bowl off of the counter!

So much for the double batch of cookies that we were making!! :)

Potty training...

Just a few of the things I've heard today while Dailey & I are (or should I say, while I am) working on potty training...

-- 'NOOOOOO Mama, I don't gotta go pee pee!' - While acting like I'm asking her to eat rat poisoning.
-- 'It ok, I go pee pee on the floor, not in potty.' - Trying very hard to convince me it's alright to go on the floor instead of the toilet.

-- 'Oh sorry, I pee pee'd on the floor, I clean it up.' When all I see is her running off to get a towel...
-- 'Sorry Dora, I go pee pee on you.' - While sitting on the floor taking her wet Dora undies off.
-- 'Uh oh, I go pee pee on frogs.' - Same as above, except frog panies.
-- 'Uh oh mommy, I go pee pee on your slippers.' - While she was standing on my feet & decided to go...seriously!?!
-- 'Where's my diaper?'

I think it's safe to say, this isn't going as planned.

Rather than be bummed out that potty training isn't going well, I'll just look at this picture of my youngest, sweet little daughter that popped her first tooth today...

Just the two of us...

A couple of weekends ago Justin & I had a whole day & night to ourselves!! We left town in the morning for Justin's yearly cancer check-up & left the doctor's office with great news - he is still cancer free! In July it will mark 8 years that he has been in remission.

When we were done with his appointment we went to The Seattle Boat Show & walked around for a few hours. We walked through some million dollar yachts & made the decision that those obviously aren't for us! We also looked at new ski/wake board boats...I think we both picked out what we want next! :)

After the boat show we did a little shopping downtown, then checked into our hotel. We were going to find a nice seafood restaurant to eat at, but we decided on the restaurant that was at our hotel instead & I'm so glad we did. It was so nice to be able to have a nice meal & a few drinks with just the two of us. We were able to relax, talk & enjoy eachother for almost 3 hours!!

In the morning we got up & went to Pike's Place Market to get some fish for dinner that night, and a few other things that we picked up along the way. When we were done at the market we met my mom (she brought our girls to us) and then went to the Seattle Aquarium. Dailey had a great time & loved seeing all of the fish. Justin was walking around with her when I heard Dailey's sweet voice yell "I see Dory! Look Daddy, Nemo!!" She was so excited!!

We finished our fun day with lunch on the water, then the trip home.

Play time!

Playing in Skylee's crib was fun for the girls until Dailey started jumping around like the wild hooligan that she is a 2 year old & I had to rescue Skylee's arms/body out from under Dailey's jumping legs!

The sun finally came out & it warmed up enough to be able to play outside for a few minutes!! Dailey loved it! When we got too chilly we brought the slide into the living room for more time to play.

Our little Skylee is such a sweet girl. She is starting to really enjoy playing by herself in her Bumbo or her bouncy chair. We might be a little biased but, yes, we think she's perfect! :)

Big Sister

Seeing Dailey in her Big Sister shirt makes me realize how big she is getting. 5 short months ago she was still our baby & now she is a big sister. For the most part she is still doing great in her big sister role...she definately has her moments though! The last couple of weeks she has been known to sneak in a jab to the eye or a smack on the head if we aren't paying attention. The other night she was being so sweet just rubbing Skylee's head, poking her cheeks, saying how cute she is then suddenly she jabbed her finger into Skylee's eye. She can't always be sweet & innocent though, right?!

Please pray...

This is a blog that I've followed for the last few months, even though each time I read it I walk away with tears. They have 4 children, including twin girls that are 2 weeks older than Dailey & they lost one of their precious little girl, Tuesday, to cancer on Friday.
Please pray for them.
