Labor Day Weekend 2009

We had another great Labor Day Weekend this year. Since I wasn't 9+ months pregnant like I was last year, it was much more enjoyable for me!! Thursday night started out with Justin & I going to a Seahawks game. We had a fun time at the game & stayed in a great hotel! When we got back to town on Friday morning we headed to the annual 4H sale, where we bought a pig & a lamb. It was my first time at the auction actually buying something & let's just say, next year I'll sit on my hands & leave Justin in charge of bidding! At one point I was talking with Justin & our friend Tom, not paying attention at all to anything & moving my hands all around until Tom started laughing & told me I had just bid on the pig that was being auctioned off!! Thankfully someone out bid me & we didn't end up having to buy that pig also!!
After the sale we took the girls to the rodeo & they LOVED it!! Skylee was busy looking at all the people when we walked in that she didn't realize the arena was full of horses until we sat down in our seats. When she turned around & saw them she started bouncing, pointing & grunting/yelling at them - it was so cute! Dailey thought the 'jumping horses' were hilarious!! I was starting to tell her that the horses were bucking, but her pronunciation isn't always 100% & I saw that possibly going bad, so we stuck with jumping horses. I'm bummed that I didn't get any pictures that night, but we had a great time!!

Saturday morning we got up & took the girls to the parade...one more thing they both loved! Dailey danced away to all the music, waved at all the people, gathered candy & loved the 'walking horses'.

After the parade I dropped everyone off at home & headed out to order our new kitchen appliances!! Our current appliances are less than 4 years old, but when our remodel/addition is complete they won't fit/work with the new layout, so we got new ones! We will be selling our existing ones, so if you know anyone in the market for a new fridge, dishwasher, oven/range & microwave, please let us know. Here is a peek at what we will have in our new kitchen...

I've wanted stainless appliances for awhile & I'm so excited for our home to be done so I can use them!!

After my appliance buying excursion I was done just in time to catch Logan showing his lamb. This is his second year of 4H & he loves it! Two of his best friends, Slate & Sarah, are in his 4H club & they all have a great time together. Slate & Logan have grown up being neighbors & have gone to school with Sarah since preschool, it's been fun to watch their relationships grow. They all did great this year & are already looking forward to next year!

Saturday night Justin did barn duty with Logan at the fair while I enjoyed a quiet night at home with my girls. It isn't very often that I have a night completely alone with them, but when they do happen I enjoy it so much! We took a bath, read books, snuggled, sang songs & enjoyed our girl time. I cherish these times so much because I know it won't be long before hanging out with Mom on a Saturday night won't be at the top of their lists! Dailey waited in Logan & Landon's bed until they got home, she loves sleeping with them!! When they finally got home, they all 3 crawled in bed & were sound asleep in minutes, Dailey snuggled up in the middle of them :)

Sunday morning we were up bright & early so Justin could get Logan to the fair to feed his lambs at 7am. We then worked around the house, took the girls to my mom's house for the night & headed out to meet up with friends!! We had a great time, had a lot of laughs & made great memories! What more can we ask for??

Monday we took the girls to the fair to see the animals, ride the rides & eat lunch. The girls loved the animals, but to our surprise, only Dailey wanted to touch them. Skylee seems to be the animal lover in the family, but apparently not up close. She was very happy to sit back, point & grunt at them while Dailey wanted to touch & feed all of them.

When we got to the rides Dailey seemed to be thrilled & wanted to go on everything. Well, that was until we got on the little rollercoaster! Before we started moving she got really nervous, was holding on to me & kept making sure that I was going to stay with her the whole time. I kept reassuring her that I wasn't going to leave her & it was going to be so much fun! Well....then the ride started. She was saying "Oh yeah, this is fun! Weeee!!" but it was obvious that she was trying to talk herself into liking it, she even asked me to hold her arms up for her. Justin got this picture & it explains it all...

I'm laughing so hard in it because she had just said how much fun it was, but when I looked down at her face it was obvious she wasn't exactly enjoying herself. The really funny part came when the ride was done because she started yelling 'woo hoo!' at the top of her lungs & making it look like she loved it. Then when I got her out of the seat, she threw her arms up in the air, jumped & yelled "Woo hoo, that was awesome!!" Oh, Dailey!! :)

We finished out our day with a couple of more rides, then headed home to BBQ with some friends.
